This collection contains the personal papers, photographs, ephemera, documents, newspaper clippings, and various other papers relating to World War II years and post war years lives of Herbert and Betty Colker as well as many family members and their correspondences with the Colkers.

Scope and Contents This collection is comprised of materials related to the military career and history of Colonel William Morrison Robinson, Jr. Much of the material deals with research and preparation for his books, The Confederate privateers, and Justice in Grey, a history of the judicial system of the Confederate States. This item is a letter in manuscript by A. J. T. Wright, Alligator, October 22, 1855, to Mr. T. W. Brevard, Comptroller, Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida, informing him that the vacancy in the Tax Collector office was occasioned by the resignation of William A. Sheffield, and not by his death. Attached to the letter is this note: "Lake City, known as Alligator before 1859, because of its proximity to an Indian village ruled by a Seminole chief of that name..."

This collection relates to George Oliver Craig who served with the 99th Infantry Division during World War II in France, during the Battle of the Ardennes, and Germany. The collection contains letters, photographs, government documents, newspaper clippings from Craig's experiences in the Civilian Conservation Corps, at training camps in the U.S., and at various stations in Germany, France, and England. The collection also contains a diary. His burial flag is also included in this collection.

This collection relates to Allen H. Crawford who served in the U.S. Army Air Force as a bombardier and navigator in the 401st Bomb Group in the European Theater of Operation during World War II. This collection contains an oral history transcript where Crawford details his numerous bombing missions over Germany from late 1944 through the end of the war.

This collection pertains to Francis Bryant Crews, who served as a Boatswain's Mate for the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II. This collections contains various photographs, a two-page manuscript, and a Veteran's Questionnaire. The manuscript details Crews' duties minesweeping and assisting the Navy Photographer on and around the island of Iwo Jima. The photographs included were taken by the Navy Photographer.

Crispen Nissen served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps with the 12th and 18th Weather Squadrons during World War II in the United States, England, North Africa, and Italy. This collection includes an original diary Nissen kept from 1941-1942, describing his daily thoughts, experiences, and observations about the general war effort. The collection also includes Vmail and handwritten letters, written by Nissen to his fiancee and future wife, Etrulia Ellis, as well as the letters she sent to him.

This collection relates to U.S. Navy Electrician's Mate First Class William I. Criste who served during World War II with GROPAC 11, Section E-9. The materials relate to the battle, work, and life on Iwo Jima, including more than 100 photographs, military documents, and Japanese military artifacts.

Documentation of the land holdings of Alexander Cromartie (1807-1870) of Leon County, Florida.  Includes an 1868 manuscript land indenture transferring two parcels of land to Cromartie's son, Alexander G. Cromartie; and an 1870 map by surveyor W. L. Robeson, detailing the division of Cromartie's 978 acres near Lake Iamonia after his death.

This collection consists of an oral history transcript of an interview with 2nd Lt. James J. Crooke, who served in World War II. Crooke served in the Army Air Corps with the 303rd Bomb Group in the European Theater (ETO).

This collection relates to Angie Croy and her father, Aviation Machinist's Mate Felder Lang Howell, who was killed in a car accident while on duty at Corry Field in Pensacola, Florida. The collection consists of two scrapbooks from World War II, one belonging to Angie Croy, the other assembled by her mother. The scrapbooks include photographs, greeting cards, newspapers, and magazine clippings. The collection also includes letters, telegrams, certificates, and military documents all pertaining to Howell and his family. Artifacts include jewelry, a gold star flag, a floral arrangement ribbon, and a medal awarded posthumously.

This is an oral interview transcript relates to Dwight R. Crum regarding his service with the 119th Anti-Aircraft Battalion in Europe during World War II. He was initially drafted into the 95th Coast Artillery Corps in 1941. He served at Pearl Harbor in 1942 before being transferred to the European Theater where he served as a 2nd LT with the 119th Anti-Aircraft Battalion.

This collection is comprised of a photostat of Wood's letter in duplicate. The letter is by Dallas Wood, Co. "K," 6th Fla. Vols, Finley's Brigade, dated Dalton, Georgia, December 25, 1863, to "Dear Sister." Dallas Wood's letter to his sister is chiefly a family letter written on Christmas day and deals only slightly with army life and the granting of furloughs. His reference to "the bloody struggle" was doubtless in anticipation of a forthcoming transfer to Virginia and Tennessee where Brig.-General Finley's Florida Infantry saw service during the following two years.
