This collection contains President Albert Alexander Murphree's official presidential correspondence as well as his personal correspondence. It includes letters concerning his work as editor and publisher of the Florida School Exponent, the only teacher's journal in Florida, which began publication in 1894.

Virgil Conner interview

Scope and Contents

This collection contains a transcript of an interview with Virgil Conner, performed on April 24, 1973, by Clifton Paisley. During the interview, Mr. Connor discusses his early college education, his relationship with Doak Campbell, his political leanings and also his experience as an 85 year old graduate student at FSU in the 1970s. This interview was research material for the article "A Graduate Student at Eighty-Five" published in Research in Review in 1973. A copy of that issue is included with the transcript.

William James Bryan letters

This collection consists of correspondence between May M. Jennings, Dr. Edward Conradi, Governor Doyle E. Carlton and others regarding the presentation of the tablet from the Battleship "Florida" to Bryan Hall of the Florida State College for Women, Tallahassee, Florida, on November 14, 1930. The tablet was placed in Bryan Hall to honor Senator Bryan.
