Scope and Contents

The FSU Vertical Files Collection was created by previous Special Collections librarians and archivists with the express purpose of housing information about FSU's colleges, departments, organizations, buildings, athletics teams, and notable people in one easily accessible collection. The Collection contains photocopies and original newspaper clippings, official records, meeting minutes, and reports, correspondence, programs, brochures, flyers, schedules and calendars of events, and other original memorabilia and ephemera.

This collection will be useful for research on specific FSU organizations and departments, campus initiatives, building history, and faculty, staff, and alumni biographies.

Abstract

This collection documents the activities and histories of various organizations, colleges, departments, and notable individuals at FSU. The collection contains original records, correspondence, press releases, schedules and calendars, newspaper clippings, brochures and pamphlets, programs, and flyers.

Arrangement Note

This is an artificial collection of materials created and maintained by previous archivists and librarians in Special Collections. It is arranged in 3 series: 1. General subjects, 2. Biographies, and 3. Buildings. The series are arranged alphabetically by subject, personal name, or department or college name.
