Biographical or Historical Information

The Association of Retired Faculty was initiated in 1979 by President Emeritus Bernie Sliger. The association was primarily concerned with preserving relations among members. All retired faculty and their spouses were eligible for membership, and spouses retained eligibility should their spouse die. The association had many functions throughout the year, including barbecues; dinners; plays; and luncheons. The association also created committees dealing with welfare needs of retired faculty, and university relations.
