League of Women Voters, Tallahassee Chapter Records
Scope and Contents
The records of the League of Women Voters, Tallahassee Chapter, are comprised primarily of administrative files, publications, and subject files and document 55 years of Tallahassee League activities including the organization of conventions and meetings, coordination of league activities, and the chapter’s relationship with the League of Women Voters of the United States.
The papers are organized in three series. The administrative series includes correspondence, bylaws, conference proceedings, and meeting minutes. The publications series contains runs of Tallahassee League of Women Voters publications (The Tallahassee Voter), as well as national publications including The National Voter and Study and Action guides. The subject files include information concerning the different areas of interest and actions of the Tallahassee League of Women Voters such as: consolidation, constitutional amendments, education, voting rights, and other legislative issues in Tallahassee, the State of Florida and the United States.

Biographical / Historical
The League of Women Voters, Tallahassee Chapter, is a non-partisan political organization affiliated with the League of Women Voters of the United States that works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. The Tallahassee Chapter was established in 1956 as the Tallahassee Provisional League of Women Voters, however, currently no written history of the Tallahassee Chapter exists.
