This collection relates to Katherine Reibman who served in the Women's Army Corps during World War II at Camp Upton. This collection contains an Oral History where Reibman recounts her experiences during the war where she was responsible for handing out uniforms and later handing over the records of African Americans being discharged.

Biographical / Historical
Katherine Reibman was a professional dancer before she served during World War II as a T/5 in Women's Army Corps. She enlisted at the age of 24 and was stationed in Camp Upton on Long Island in New York. She was initially responsible for handing out uniforms, but later was tasked with handing over the records of African Americans being discharged. She served from 1944 to 1946. After the war, Katherine Reibman married and used the G.I. Bill to study dance. She was married to her husband for 44 years. Afterwards, she owned a dance studio where she taught for 22 years. Katherine Reibman served as a Girl Scout leader and edited the school paper.
