Biographical / Historical
Michael Amdahl works at a Refuse Transfer Center and collects World War II material that has been thrown away by others. This collection contains a series of donations that Mr. Amdahl has made to the Institute. While a large portion of the donated materials were originally owned by Lieutenant Commander George John Tauxe, Amdahl's collection derives from several different people. The assorted nature of this collection and its sources give many insights into the personal experiences of the war throughout the world, the degree of damage to which cities and nature faced, and even the scopes to which American soldiers trained for combat and logistics.
