Leon J. Gwiazdowski served as a U.S. Army engineer in the Pacific Theater with the 340th Engineers during World War II. His collection includes letters written between Gwiazdowski and his family, as well as other documents relating to his time in the military.

Biographical or Historical Information

Leon J. Gwiazdowski was born on June 27, 1915, in Linden, New Jersey. He served as a sergeant in the Pacific with the 340th Engineers in the Pacific, including the Philippines. He passed away on December 9, 2000.
