Collection includes Judge Terrell's official papers, speeches, newspaper articles by and about the Judge, correspondence & legal files pertaining to the Florida Bar, court rules, impeachments, campaigns, law books, bulletins, journals, & maps; most of the items are legal files, opinions and per curiams; also includes personal papers, photos, scrapbooks & memorabilia. Approximately 7,663 items including opinions and per curiams, speeches, court rules, official papers and private correspondence.

Biographical or Historical Information

Justice Glenn Terrell was a member of the Supreme Court of Florida for 41 years at the time of his death in January 1964. In 1965, Mrs. Esther Collins Terrell, his wife, presented his papers to the Florida State University Library.

Method of Acquisition

The papers, audiovisual materials, and memorabilia of William Glenn Terrell were given to the Florida State University Libraries by his wife, Esther Collins; F. Perry Odom, Tallahassee, Florida; Campbell Thornal, Justice of the Florida Supreme Court; and Fred 0. Dickinson, Jr., Florida Comptroller. Materials were given from 1965-1973.

Existence and Location of Originals

The scrapbooks have been microfilmed; scrapbooks 1-6, listed below, can be found on Film 9411 (2 reels) in the Florida State University Libraries. Reel 1 has Books 1-5. Reel 2 has Book 6.
