Biographical
"Teresa Holloway (1906-1989), was born in Apalachicola, Florida...She moved to Jacksonvilee in 1939, owning and operating a ginger ale company for four years; from 1947-1967 she worked every biennium as an admistrative assistant in the Florida Senate.She also taught writing workshops at Jacksonville University and Florida Community College. Holloway published 39 novels under her own name and the pseudonyms Elizabeth Beatty and Margaret Vail McLeod. Her popular nurse romance novels for young adults feature a young woman or girl as protagonist. ...As Elizabeth Beatty, Holloway wrote mystieries, such as Jupiter Missile Mystery and Murder at Auction. As Margaret Vail McLeaod and Teresa Holloway, she wrote novels of young women in leadership jobs, such as Captain Jane, River Rescue, and Lady Lawyer. In addition, she scripted TV documentaries featuring Florida....She also wrote numerous features for the Jacksonville newspapers and a political column on the Florida legislature in the 1950s. Her many stories have appeared in The Saturday Evening Post, Ford Times, and Alfred Hitchock Mystery Magazine, among others." Quoted from The Book Lover's Guide to Florida, edited by Kevin M.
