Bellamy-White Duel
Scope and Contents
This collection contains a three-page letter by Edwin Pugsley that gives some background on Senator William White and Abraham Bellamy, both of Monticello, Florida, principals of the duel, and a detailed description of the "English Duelling Pistols" chosen by them. Also, how Mr. Pugsley came into possession of the information about the historic duel and of the pistols.
The pistols, still in Mr. Pugsley's possession as of the writing of the letter in 1958, are illustrated in a little book Famous guns from famous collections by H. W. Bowman.
