Biographical or Historical Information

Donald Preston Ward served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as part of the 6th Bomber Group, 40th Bomb Squadron, 20th Air Force in the Pacific Campaign from 1943-1945. While in New Jersey, Tennessee, and South Carolina, he was trained as a radio operator and mechanic, and flew missions over Tinian Island. In addition, he delivered food and supplies to POW camps in China and Japan.
