Biographical or Historical Information
Anthony Catalino enlisted in 1940 and trained at Camp Blanding FL, Camp Shelby MI, and Fort Dix NJ from 1940-1941, where he also got married right after Pearl Harbor. He initially served in the Field Artillery in Oran, North Africa in 1942, but was put on "limited service" due to a leg injury, and did staff work at supply depots and hospitals in Casablanca (Morocco), Naples, Florence, and Pisa in Italy from 1942-1945. He saw many casualties and German POWs at the hospitals, including many German officers.
