Biographical / Historical

Robert B. Barnick was born on May 8, 1924 in Brookfield, Illinois. Barnick was inducted at Fort Sheridan, Illinois and attended training in Camp Carson, Camp Hale, and Camp Swift. He served as a gunner on a howitzer in the 10th Mountain Division in the 604th Field Artillery in the European Theater of Operations. Barnick was in charge of the gun crew and aimed and sited the artillery piece. Barnick was discharged from Camp Grant, Illinois. Robert B. Barnick passed away on September 25, 2000 at the age of 75 in Maricopa County, Arizona.
