Collection consists of two newspapers and three photos concerning the Faber's Cedar Mill at Cedar Key, FL. The issue of the New Orleans Journal of Commerce, January 29, 1887 and the issue of the Cedar Key Commercial, June 14, 1890, both contain articles relating to the Faber interests in Cedar Key and other industries along the Florida coast. Flagler Enterprises Letters

Scope and Contents The two manuscript letters, dated 1893, are by George F. Miles, St. Augustine, Florida to Landford Fleming, Esq., C.M.G., Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and refer to matters pertaining to Flagler enterprises. Mr. Miles at that time was general manager and director of the Florida Coast Line Canal and Transportation Company with headquarters at St. Augustine, and Mr. Fleming was a stockholder in the "Boston and Florida Land Company." In his letter of March 21, 1893, Mr. Miles expressed concern about the health of Mr. Fleming, and suggested that the delightful climate in Florida could be beneficial to him. They are quite elaborate and contain pictures, maps and extensive advertising. They are from different towns and cities in Florida and date from 1879-1896. The letters are mostly to W.D. Bloxham and W.D. Barnes, both comptrollers for the state of Florida. Barnes was comptroller from 1881-1890 and Bloxham from 1890-1897. Frank Hatheway Papers

This collection consists of a diary of G. Frank Hatheway regarding his life and work, as well as examples of poetry, and a funeral announcement for his daughter, Julia. A scrapbook kept by Hatheway (originally MSS 0-138) is also part of the collection. The scrapbook contains a collection of poetry, clippings of historical interest, old prints, and pictures. The poetry is a mix of poetry Hatheway copied and original compisitions. A page of music in manuscript form, The Indian Maid, may be an original composition as well.

Scope and Contents The Ladd Journal and papers consist of a journal labeled "Property of Fred Ladd" and contains 217 pages with 587 accounts listed, and the "abstract of title of George W. Ladd of Bangor, Maine, to lands in Wakulla County, Florida, purchased at U.S. Marshal sale." The title includes "Lands in Forbes Purchase" and shows John Beard, noted Registrar of those days, as receiver to settle titles of lands in Forbes Purchases. Also included are "The J. & N. Hamlin Land & Heirs account with Daniel Ladd," and an invoice "Wakulla Camp to D.
