Scope and Contents The Ladd Journal and papers consist of a journal labeled "Property of Fred Ladd" and contains 217 pages with 587 accounts listed, and the "abstract of title of George W. Ladd of Bangor, Maine, to lands in Wakulla County, Florida, purchased at U.S. Marshal sale." The title includes "Lands in Forbes Purchase" and shows John Beard, noted Registrar of those days, as receiver to settle titles of lands in Forbes Purchases. Also included are "The J. & N. Hamlin Land & Heirs account with Daniel Ladd," and an invoice "Wakulla Camp to D. The Rondeau Boyd Laffitte General Merchandise Account Books are significant to Southern business history researchers because they document purchases of dry goods, foods, and agricultural produce at one of several general stores in Lloyd, Florida during the late 19th and early 20th Centuries.

Scope and Contents The Scarborough Papers include correspondence pertaining to mercantile business, land plats and deeds, a journal of mercantile business and plantation records. These materials about Scarborough's business afford a clear picture of early Florida merchandising and farming and contain many names of citizens of West Florida and of South Georgia. There is no evidence of ownership; because of the locations of the accounts near Metcalfe, Georgia or just over the Leon County, Florida line, there may have been a country store in business at the time. This collection contains business records, publications, correspondence and manuscripts created and maintained by the Tallahassee Genealogical Society (TGS). The format of the records are in paper, book and digital format.

This collection consists of merchant account books and merchant inventory books from Tallahassee, Florida, dating 1843-1863. Several books list James M. Williams of Tallahassee, including his "cotton book," showing purchaser, seller, number of bales, shape, where bought, weights, prices, amount paid, expenses, commission, shipping marks and numbers, names of vessels and destination of vessels on which shipments were made. A newspaper clipping is glued to one of the blank pages at the front of this book. Another book is listed as William P. Slusser's account book.

This collection includes the business papers of Thomas H. (Harvey) Bond and the estate papers of Thomas H. Lloyd of Jefferson County, Florida. Other materials and topics covered by the collection include business invoices, a 15-page reprint from the Florida Historical Quarterly entitled, "Thirty cents cotton at Lloyd, Florida, 1916-1919" by Clifton Paisley, banking papers, railroad bills, executors papers and related correspondence of Miss Annie Lloyd Bond, an invoice book, ledger, bookkeeping journal, farm account book, household account book, and the tax roll for the town of Lloyd.

Scope and Contents The Van Brunt records contain 16 journals, ledgers, "cotton seed books," two tenant farmer agreement contracts, a typed letter by Mr. Clifton Paisley to Mr. N. Orwin Rush, dated August 17, 1969, and a seven-page typescript of Mr. Paisley's interview on July 5, 1969, with a daugher of Mr. Van Brunt, Mrs. Jack Gregory, of Quincy, Florida. Scope and Contents This collection consists of the accounting books of the Wakulla Plantation. The two items are in poor condition and incomplete. The account book dated 1891-1901. The Epping Hanserd & Co. account, dated 1866, is legible but the bottom part of the page has been torn off. However, there is a Tax Return for 1895, and the other legible papers appear to be individual accounts with various persons. The items listed in the accounts are such as would be listed by the keeper of a commissary. The name "Rehwinkle" also appears in the document, possible as the name of the plantation.
