The John MacKay Shaw Collection consists of the Childhood in Poetry Collection and other materials he collected that relate to the six themes that are evident throughout the Collection: bibliography, biography, children, collecting, publishing, and writing. This collection relates to James E. McDaniel who served as a colonel in the United States Army Air Corps in the European Theater of Operations during World War II. He served in the 48th Bomb Group at Will Rogers Field and 15th Bomb Squadron Light 1st All American Unit. This collection contains flight notes, french paper money, a war department identification card, immunization papers, pay record, 32 black and white postcards from Italy, a photography book of Cambridge England, and a Paris transit park ticket.

The collection was given by Reubin O'Donovan Askew in 2008. It contains materials related to his time serving in the Florida House of Representatives, Florida State Senate, and as Governor of Florida.  Included in the collection are campaign files, correspondence, newspaper articles, photographs, audiovisual materials, memorabilia, and copies of speeches. Additionally, there are records documenting his 1988 Presidential bid, as well as other materials relating to his life after his service as a Florida public official. Also included in the collection are the personal papers of his wife, Donna Lou Harper Askew.

This collection pertains to Corporal Wrightson Ely Clinton Sr., who served in the 116th Field Artillery Battalion of the United States Army National Guard's 31st Infantry Division. He served in the Netherland East Indies and the Philippines from 1944 to 1945 as a clerk of the Battery.

This collection consists of one half-box, primarily containing photographs and artifacts he was issued, collected, or awarded during his service. It also includes correspondence with his family, separation papers, scanned copies of the original scrapbook his photographs were stored in, and rosters of servicemen from his battalion.
