    Evelyn Whitfield Henry Scrapbooks

    This collection consists of two scrapbooks covering Tallahassee and Florida history for over a century, 1861-1961. The first scrapbook, "Chronology of Tallahassee and Florida History," consists of newspaper clippings and original documents including an aerial photograph of the Florida Capitol, the by-laws of the United Confederate Veterans, photographs of St. Johns Episcopal Church, and a pen and ink drawing of Wakulla Springs. The second scrapbook contains newspaper clippings and original documents such as inaugural programs. This second scrapbook deals with Florida governors, U.S. Presidents, and local Tallahassee history.

    Florida Peace Officers School Collection

    Scope and Contents The Florida Peace Officers School Collection documents a law enforcement instructional program held at Camp Foster in 1934. It contains addresses delivered by State Attorney and Manatee County local historian Dewey Dye, Vernon Hawthorne, State Attorney of the 11th Judicial Circuit of Florida; Fred H. Davis, Chief Justice of the Florida Supreme Court, and Cary D. Landis, Florida Attorney General, on such topics as the cost of crime, martial law, crime detection, and the powers and duties of peace officers under Florida law; an example of a felony report used for training purposes, and a reprint of an article about the work of state police.     Radio Scripts

     Collection

    Scope and Contents This collection consists mostly of pre-television radio scripts. The war programs are particularly significant in any study of propaganda and give an aspect in the study of broadcasting of this period. The majority of the scripts are from the Writer's War Board, but there are also others by Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York, Broadcast Music Inc., R C A Victor Records, Thesarus Program Continuity Service, and an episode of Mr. Sycamore, a 30 minute radio comedy-drama produced during the 1940s.     Roscoe Ralph Oglesby Collection

    The Roscoe Ralph Oglesby Collection is comprised of personal correspondence and memorabilia. The correspondence, dated November 26, 1928 to May 17, 1934, includes letters from Harrel N. Tague and representatives of the YMCA as well as a letter from Governor George C. Perry of Virginia (18 items). The memorabilia, dated 1929 to 1945, includes programs from various stage productions and YMCA functions and a signed appointment from Governor Perry (44 items).
