This collection consists mainly of papers connected with Fuller Warren's public life: his campaigns of 1948 and 1956, and particularly the four years he was Governor, from January 4, 1949, to January 6, 1953. One of the best documented areas in the collection deals with Warren's controversy with Senator Estes Kefauver over crime in Florida.

This collection consists of a broadside regarding the secession of Florida from the Union and a duplicate of that broadside. The broadside was issued by George T. Ward before the State Convention at Montgomery, Alabama in January 1861. Scope and Contents Manuscript letter by Governor Thomas Brown, Executive Department of Florida, Tallahassee, Florida, January 31, 1853, to Captain Wm. B. Cone. Cone was a former member of Legislature from Camden County, Georgia, but at the time of Brown's letter was a Captain of a Company of Calvary in the State of Georgia. The letter was in reply to Captain Cone's letters of January 21 and 24, 1853, in which Captain Cone had offered him the service of "a Company of Calvary in the event of Indian hostilities." The collection of Wayne Mixson contains an oral history transcript of an interview provided by the Reichelt Program for Oral History. Mixson, who would later serve as the 39th Governor of Florida, served in the United States Navy from 1942-1946 and participated in the Lighter-Than-Air Project; he worked with a crew in EP Squadron 14, a blimp squadron.

The collection was given by Reubin O'Donovan Askew in 2008. It contains materials related to his time serving in the Florida House of Representatives, Florida State Senate, and as Governor of Florida.  Included in the collection are campaign files, correspondence, newspaper articles, photographs, audiovisual materials, memorabilia, and copies of speeches. Additionally, there are records documenting his 1988 Presidential bid, as well as other materials relating to his life after his service as a Florida public official. This collection contains research materials used by Martin Dyckman for his 2006 book about former Governor Leroy Collins titled Floridian of His Century. Research materials include speeches from Leroy Collins before he became governor; an interview transcript with Premier Khrushchev during Collins' trip to the Soviet Union; newspaper columns written by Collins for the St. Peterburg Times and transcripts and audio recordings of interviews conducted by Dyckman.
