Cinema Promotional Materials

Scope and Contents

This collection contains cinema promotional materials in various formats, including press books, 33 1/3 and 45 records, cassette tapes of radio commercials and video tapes.

Each press book contains advertising material for the promotion of a particular film such as stories about the stars or production of the movie, actual layouts of various sizes, campaign plans, and related information. In size, the press books vary from a single page or sheet to a booklet of a dozen or more pages. Some contain various enclosures such as pictures and additional ad sheets.

The records consist of 33 1/3's and 45's which may contain several radio commercials of various lengths.

The Hancock Antarctic Collection consists of correspondence, photographs, books, pamphlets, film reels, and memorabilia collected by Robert E. Hancock, Jr. during and after his stay in the Antarctic. Mildred Shearer papers

Scope and Contents This collection contains personal papers including letters, notes, sketches, newspaper articles, and a radio interview of Mildred Shearer about her work with the United Service Organization (USO) sketching servicemen. Almost 600 photostatic copies and a few original portraits are included as well. The letters are mainly thank you notes in which servicemen and family members of servicemen commend her for her sketches. However, there are a few personal letters from friends and in one case, an entire collection of correspondence with one man in the Marines named Lieutenant Ralph Hunter Bennett. Scope and Contents The Thomas LeRoy Collins Papers, 1903-1991, largely document this prominent Florida statesman's post-Gubernatorial career (1961-1991).
