The Sheldon Nead collection focuses on Nead's service in the Persian Gulf Command from 1944-1945. He was assigned to help transfer supplies from the United States to Russia through Iran. This collection centers around a Corporal and Combat Radio Operator in the 310th Bombardment Wing, 528th Bomb Squadron, 380th Bomb Group, in the Southwest Pacific theatre of World War II. It includes handwritten radio messages, commendations, strike reports, a copy of the Filipino Press from May of 1945, and a Japanese newspaper. It also includes twenty-two aerial photographs of the Southeast Pacific, including Saigon, Indochina, Formosa, and Muong Man, Vietnam. It also includes two envelopes without letters, a Christmas card, and a modern day article from CNN.

William Carrier papers

Scope and Contents William Carrier served as an Assistant Turret Officer aboard the USS Nashville from 1944-46 in the Pacific Theater during World War II. During Carrier's time aboard the Nashville, General Douglas MacArthur was transported twice by the Nashville. At this time, Carrier was able to capture candid photographs of MacArthur. This collection contains those photographs as well as photographs of Pacific scenery and crew, along with handwritten notes by Carrier of battles in which the USS Nashville participated. This collection pertains to Corporal Wrightson Ely Clinton Sr., who served in the 116th Field Artillery Battalion of the United States Army National Guard's 31st Infantry Division. He served in the Netherland East Indies and the Philippines from 1944 to 1945 as a clerk of the Battery.

This collection consists of one half-box, primarily containing photographs and artifacts he was issued, collected, or awarded during his service. It also includes correspondence with his family, separation papers, scanned copies of the original scrapbook his photographs were stored in, and rosters of servicemen from his battalion.
