This collection consists of two scrapbooks covering Tallahassee and Florida history for over a century, 1861-1961. The first scrapbook, "Chronology of Tallahassee and Florida History," consists of newspaper clippings and original documents including an aerial photograph of the Florida Capitol, the by-laws of the United Confederate Veterans, photographs of St. Johns Episcopal Church, and a pen and ink drawing of Wakulla Springs. The second scrapbook contains newspaper clippings and original documents such as inaugural programs. This second scrapbook deals with Florida governors, U.S. Presidents, and local Tallahassee history.

It contains addresses delivered by State Attorney and Manatee County local historian Dewey Dye, Vernon Hawthorne, State Attorney of the 11th Judicial Circuit of Florida; Fred H. Davis, Chief Justice of the Florida Supreme Court, and Cary D. Landis, Florida Attorney General, on such topics as the cost of crime, martial law, crime detection, and the powers and duties of peace officers under Florida law; an example of a felony report used for training purposes, and a reprint of an article about the work of state police. Florida State College for Women Alumnae Association Award of Honor Programs

The Florida State College for Women Alumnae Association Award of Honor programs document the first and second ceremonies conferring this award on May 23, 1936 and May 27, 1937. The programs contain pictures of the award, a description of its history and purpose, the speech given by each guest speaker, and a list of the award recipients for each year with brief biographical sketches.

Each program was part of a published series (for 1936, it was the Florida State College for Women Bulletin, Vol. XXIX, No. 4, Part 1; for 1937 it was the Florida State College for Women Bulletin, Vol. XXX, December, 1937, No. 4).

Jack Crothers Collection

Scope and Contents

The collection, donated by Jack Crothers to Heritage Protocol, consists primarily of ephemera relating to Florida State sports teams, especially football. The collection includes pennants, a variety of ticket stubs spanning much of the history of Florida State football, and pompons for every ACC team as of 2004. Other items include a jacket acquired from a Seminole Indian reservation and a program for the 1964 commencement ceremony at Florida State University.

This collection includes memorabilia and photographs from the Florida State College for Women (FSCW) dated 1917 to 1919. Many items are attached to sheets of black construction paper including a Liberty Day Program, a Grade Report for Lois A. Turner, a supper menu from the Leon Hotel, and a FSCW Christmas Vespers church program. The collection also contains many photos including a few that were probably taken at a sea-side excursion and some that portray Lois Turner Burke.
