William George Dodd papers

Also included are copies of a column in the Tallahassee Democrat entitled, "I remember ... in the Big Bend," and honorary awards. There are also notes on research for his book, Florida State College for Women: notes of the formative years. Additional subjects include Francis T. Dodd correspondence, Florida State University, Josephine White Dodd, Dorothy Dodd letters, William Faulkner, Tallahassee schools, and letters to Owen Rush.

The scrapbook of William J. Howey provides a clear exposition of the activities of the Republican party in Florida during 1928 when he ran for governor of the state. It contains newspaper clippings pertaining to his political opponents, economic conditions, and the development of the citrus industry in Florida.

The tablet was placed in Bryan Hall to honor Senator Bryan.

Also included is Mr. Marshall's game license, a rental agreement for his Tallahassee residence, and Virginia Marshall's 1935 commencement announcement from Florida State College for Women.
William Leslie Eaton papers
William Leslie Eaton served aboard the destroyer U.S.S. Longshaw (DD-559) until its sinking on May 18, 1945. The collection includes reproductions of official documents surrounding the sinking of the U.S.S. Longshaw, along with several pictures of the sinking. It also contains materials related to the general naval war in the Pacific Theater, including information about the U.S.S. Mississippi's bombardment of Shuri Castle at Okinawa, carrier raids on Japan, and messages from admirals praising the Pacific Fleet.

The collection of William R. Lueders contains an oral history transcript of an interview provided by the Reichelt Program for Oral History. Lueders served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a cameraman in the 163rd Signal Photo Company in the North African, Mediterranean, and European (ETO) Theaters. The collection also includes two photographs of an unnamed concentration camp in France and a Veteran's questionnaire.

Willie Mae Williams collection
This collection relates to Willie Mae Williams, an African American woman, who served in the Women's Army Corps during World War II. The collection includes an oral history interview, photographs, newspaper clippings, a cassette tape of the oral history, a woman's veterans hat, a Women's Army Corps souvenir tray, a Women's Army Corps tag, and a yearbook for the 1881st Service Command unit. In her oral history interview, she discusses basic training for women and the WAC's unpreparedness for the women. She worked in the hospital and talks about life as a female on base and in traveling off base to visit civilians; talk about female pregnancy in the WAC.

Sheridan S. Winkelman papers
These papers relate to Sheridan S. Winkelman, who served in the China Burma India (CBI) Theater during World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corps with the 12 Bombardment Group. The manuscript covers many topics, such as training and US activities in CA, Myrtle Beach, SC, and then in the CBI Theater, life in India, the economic crisis, prostitution, anti-Japanese sentiment, and gender concepts in China. He also discusses coming home and peace at the end of the war.
