Donald and Portia Ackerman collection
This collection relates to Donald and Portia Ackerman. Donald Ackerman served as a pilot on B-24 bombers with the 44th Bomb Squadron, 506th Bombardment Group, in the European Theater of Operations during World War II. He continued to serve in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and served during the Korean War.This collection contains an oral history transcript, artifacts, audio tapes, documents, letters, maps, pamphlets, and photographs relating to Donald and Portia Ackerman.

Hazel Louis Bowman collection
This collection relates to Hazel Louis Bowman who worked for the Signal Corps and lived in India with the American Red Cross for two years. Bowman's collection contains six full boxes, one oversize box, a phono records box, and two photograph boxes. Four of the boxes include letters written to and from Hazel to her parents, family, neighbors, and friends. The collection also contains an oral history transcript, newsletters and bulletins, American Red Cross publications, her diary, a book written by Bowman, photograph albums, and ephemera.

Robert L. and Virginia Butler papers
This collection relates to Corporal Robert L. Butler, who served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in the U.S., and his wife Virginia Butler. This collection contains letters sent between Robert and Virginia while he was training at six different locations from 1944 to 1945. Also included in the collection are letters to Robert from his mother Vedale Butler (née Irwin) and letters to Robert from his brother Charles. The letters are personal but some discuss Robert’s daily routine while in training. Virginia’s letters mostly discuss her day-to-day routine at home in Michigan and the lives of their friends and family.

This collection contains a transcript of an interview conducted with Stanley and Elsie Davis on June 12, 2000. Stanley Davis served in the U.S. Army in the Military Railway Service in the European Theater during World War II. The collection also contains 6 photographs, a photocopy of Stanley and Elsie's marriage certificate, and a copy of Kaiserzeit: Journal of the Imperial German Military Collector’s Association vol. III, summer 1974.

This collection pertains to Dorothy Marshman Fredrickson who served as a WAVE at the United States Navy Fleet Post Office in San Francisco, California. The collection contains letters from Fredrickson to her mother and sister. There are also photocopies of scrapbook pages as well as leisure photographs, newspaper clippings, greeting cards, menus, ticket stubs, railroad timetables, playbills, and show programs from the scrapbooks. The collection also contains periodicals and other publications from various sources, most concerning the Navy and/or WAVES, and WAVES rules and regulations handbooks.

This collection consists of several papers donated by Geraldine Brooke Greene. Geraldine became a "wandering wife" during the war, following her husband Staff Sergeant Julian John "Jack" Brooke until he was sent to Europe. Jack was eventually killed in action. Geraldine later remarried.

This collection is related to Laura Elizabeth Smith Hiott. The collection contains a scrapbook of military base letterheads, booklets: The WAC, Manual for Civil Defense. Also included are newspaper articles from Miami Herald and the Jacksonville (Florida) Times-Union which reveal Ms. Smith Hiott's perspective on major events during the war and often focus on servicewomen.

This collection relates to storekeeper first class Edith Houghton who served in the Navy WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service) and was a baseball player. This collection contains an interview transcript of Houghton and newspaper clippings related to her baseball tour in Japan in the 1920s.

This collection of letters written by Mrs. Harriet Jacobs relates to her time stationed with her U.S. Navy husband in Bremerhaven, Germany after World War II, from 1947-1948. Also included is a "scratchcard" made in 1942 for American civilians to "keep score" of each sunk ship of the Japanese Navy.

This collection pertains to Private First Class George Kass who served with Company E of the 18th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Battalion, 1st Division. The collection consists of letters written to and from Kass to his family, particularly his sister Rose Goldblum. Kass’ letters provide detailed accounts of Army life, and Rose’s letters provide a civilian perspective on life and the war. The letters begin after Kass’ enlistment in 1942 and end when he is wounded in action on September 5, 1944.

This collection relates to Flora Virginia Pittman who served as a U.S. Army nurse from 1940 to 1965. The collection includes artwork collected during her time on duty in the Pacific Theater during World War II, specifically 22 prints of Japanese artwork. The collection also includes photographs, postcards, and ephemera from Pittman's time abroad, as well as pins and military certificates. Also included are personal documents and special folders detailing financial information and letters from both the 80th Medical Group and First Replacement Depot.
Skilling Family collection
This collection contains letters, artifacts, photographs, and ephemera from Vincent and Leona Mazzoni's time served during World War II. Leona and Vince wrote letters to their sister, Josephine Gaudio, who saved all of these items. Both Vincent and Leona served in the Pacific Theater. Leona served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps in the China Burma Indian Theater with the 172nd General Hospital and Vincent in the U.S. Army on New Guinea.
