This collection includes 17 articles, which all pertain to either Francis Yonkin or the 11th Armored Division/3rd Army during World War II as they moved through Europe following the invasion of Normandy during World War II. Also included are 20 photographs, which include some of Francis Yonkin, and also prints of Nazi officers (in Paris at restaurants), and also photographs of tanks and the 11th Armored, as well as stock photographs of General Eisenhower, Churchill, and President Franklin D. Roosevelt (possibly from the Tehran Conference).

George D. Harris (Army Air Corps, 1942-1945) trained as a radioman and gunner on a B-17 and was assigned to the 91st Bomb Group in England in 1943. His collection contains a photocopy of three articles from the American Ex-Prisoners of War Bulletin from January 1996 and a copy of his oral history interview conducted on February 26, 2003.

This collection contains a transcript of an oral history interview with Lyle Salisbury who served with the 537th Engineer Light Pontoon Company during World War II in the European Theater from 1944 to January 1946.

He describes seeing the small Regen and Cham concentration camps. He also discusses the camaraderie with German civilians after the war was better than it was with the French.

This collection relates to Howard P. Rives who served as a First Lieutenant with the Heavy Weapons Platoon, Company D, 1st Battalion, 301st Infantry Regiment, 94th Infantry Division in the European Theater of Operations. This collection relates to Technical Sergeant John B. Sozzio who served with the Transportation Corps, 9th Traffic Regulation Group, in the European Theater during World War II. Sozzio was awarded the Bronze Star medal for his actions during the Ardennes offensive in December 1944 through January 1945. The collection includes a handwritten daily railway log of activities that was maintained by Sozzio, memoirs, photographs, handwritten notes, and military-related documents.

Hy Wakstein was a Jewish American serviceman who reached the rank of Staff Sergeant with the 778th Anti-Aircraft-Automatic Weapons Battalion, Self Propelled, (served 1943-46) and discusses his experiences as an Army communications officer in the European theater of World War II in this oral history transcript. Wakstein participated in the Battle of the Bulge, and his division advanced further east into Germany than any other American division.
