Content Description This collection relates to Donald and Portia Ackerman. Donald Ackerman served as a pilot on B-24 bombers with the 44th Bomb Squadron, 506th Bombardment Group, in the European Theater of Operations during World War II. He continued to serve in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and served during the Korean War.This collection contains an oral history transcript, artifacts, audio tapes, documents, letters, maps, pamphlets, and photographs relating to Donald and Portia Ackerman.

Scope and Contents This collection relates to the Florida State College for Women (FSCW) during the World War II period. The collection consists of newspaper articles, photographs, letters and documents concerning faculty, staff, and alumnae. These materials include a series of letters discussing plans for the installation of a plaque honoring alumnae in the military service and the American Red Cross. There are a series of index cards of a speech to the Alumnae Association of Pensacola announcing the installation. ) In addition, there is a testimonial from Admiral George D. Scope and Contents The Student Record Books contain information about each student who attended the State Seminary West of the Suwanee River from 1890-1899, the Florida State College, from 1905-1909, and Florida State College for Women, from 1913-1927. Content Description This collection relates to Betty Lewis Harrison who was a student during World War II and attended Florida State College for Women. The collection consists of a veteran's questionnaire and a Red Cross pamphlet on how to knit men's socks in 1940. In her questionnaire, Harrison discusses her experiences attending the Florida State College for Women and living in the South during World War II. She also discusses riding to Carrabelle, Florida for a dance at camp Gordon Johnston. After graduating from Florida State College for Women, Harrison enlisted in the Army Nurses Corps but did not complete nursing school.

Scope and Contents This collection includes memorabilia and photographs from the Florida State College for Women (FSCW) dated 1917 to 1919. Many items are attached to sheets of black construction paper including a Liberty Day Program, a Grade Report for Lois A. Turner, a supper menu from the Leon Hotel, and a FSCW Christmas Vespers church program. The collection also contains many photos including a few that were probably taken at a sea-side excursion and some that portray Lois Turner Burke.

Scope and Contents The Katherine Moore Morse Collection includes several playbills and photographs from productions at Florida State College for Women (FSCW); mementos from Miss Sarah Thomson, an FSCW distinguished faculty member; class work from her Speech and Theater classes; various scripts; newspaper clippings related to Morse herself or FSCW; general memorabilia from Zeta Phi Eta, an honorary fraternity related to the Speech and Communication Arts; general memorabilia from FSCW during the 1940s; and correspondence from one of her aunts.

Scope and Contents The Colman Papers document the history of Florida State College for Women (FSCW) and student activities prior to and during the World War I years. The collection consists mostly of letters Colman wrote as an FSCW student to her parents in Lake Alfred.
