Donald Ackerman served as a pilot on B-24 bombers with the 44th Bomb Squadron, 506th Bombardment Group, in the European Theater of Operations during World War II. He continued to serve in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and served during the Korean War.This collection contains an oral history transcript, artifacts, audio tapes, documents, letters, maps, pamphlets, and photographs relating to Donald and Portia Ackerman.

This collection relates to Mark C. Bane Jr. who joined the National Guard in May 1941. He later volunteered for the 501st Parachute Battalion and was sent to Montgomery, Alabama to train at the Maxwell Air Force Base. While at Maxwell Air Force Base, he trained British cadets under the Arnold Plan. In late 1945, Bane traveled overseas with General Douglas MacArthur. The collection consists of an oral history transcript.

This collection relates to Harold and Lee Hart who served in the Pacific Theater of Operations and European Theater of Operations respectively. This collection contains two manuscripts, "Bataan ... My Story", by Harold Hart, and "Never to Forget", by Les Hart, and an accompanying current newspaper photograph of Lester hart. Harold's manuscript recounts events from June 1941 - June 1946, and covers his training, station in Manila, capture, experiences as a Prisoner of War, liberation, and return home. Les' manuscript recounts his experiences in World War II from 1944 to 1945 with the 10th Mountain Infantry Division, 220th anti-tank Unit.

The Hasterlik-Hine collection consists personal correspondence between Giulia Kortischoner (married name Hine) and her family and friends. The personal correspondence consists of letters, postcards, get-well-soon cards, greeting cards, and a small number of travel documents. The collection contains discussions about the Holocaust, life as a Jewish refugee, and the progress of the war and life afterwards.

Oral history of U.S. Army Air Corps B-17 Co-Pilot Colonel Jack H. Heinzel, an American prisoner of war who survived the Bataan death march and subsequent "Hell Ships" starting in April of 1942. Scope and Contents This collection contains the World War II 7th Infantry Division personal letters of U.S. Army Chaplain Assistant and Mess Sergeant Job C. Martin to his family in Pennsylvania. The collection also contains photographs and documents. Beginning with letters written while at the St. Fidelis Seminary in 1940 through his discharge in 1946, Martin discusses induction, basic training, anti-air training, reclassification, Pacific theater training in Ft. This collection contains an unpublished biography of Joseph Peters entitled "An Ordinary Hero." Peters served as a medical doctor in the Philippines during World War II and retired a Colonel. The collection also includes a letter about his 1952 retirement and a letter to his daughter about an injury stating that the initial injury was sustained upon capture by the Japanese in 1942.

Lt. Louis Goldbrum (U.S. Army, 1941-1947) was assigned to the 1st Aircraft Warning Company as the company photographer. This collection contains an oral history transcript where he discusses the evacuation of Bague, Philippines, where he was stationed, following the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941. He was captured by the Japanese and remained a POW until January 1945.

This oral history interview transcript relates to Thomas H. Moorer who attended the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, MD from 1928 to 1933. In 1935, Moorer completed flight school and was stationed in Hawaii. He was present on December 7, 1941, when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. Moorer continued to serve in the Pacific Theater during World War II and remained in the U.S. Navy after the war.  In 1964, he had become an Admiral and by 1970, the Chairman for the Joint Chiefs of Staff, serving until 1974.

In the interview, Moorer recalls his first impressions of General MacArthur, who had asked him to send a plane to pick up any wounded servicemen in the Dutch East Indies.

This collection contains letters of personal correspondence written by Ronald Morgan, who served with the 11th Airborne Division in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He saw action in Luzon and Okinawa and was among the first wave of American soldiers to enter Japan. The collection also contains two artifacts, an 11th Airborne patch and Morgan's Staff Sergeant patch.
