This collection contains a compilation of entries from Burzynski's diary during his seven years in the Navy. The diary provides an account of nearly every facet of U.S. Navy life during WWII and provides testimony on key moments of the war, including the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.

This collection relates to George Robert Carr who served in Europe during World War II. This collection includes two manuscripts. The first manuscript details Robert C. Mowrer's experiences serving with the 106th infantry Regiment, 27th Division, in the Pacific Theater. The second manuscript details German soldier Gunther Schmidt's account of the Battle of Huertgen Forest from the time he was sent there to when his battalion is defeated. Second manuscript includes maps.

This collection includes photographs and letters from the military career of Clifford Kenneth Dodd, who served in the Army Corps of Engineering during WWII. Included are official National Park Service photographs of various generals, diplomats, historic events, and Washington, D.C. Also included are photographs from Dodd's military time from basic training to his time in the Philippines. The included letters are correspondence from Dodd to his mother Marion F. Dodd. Also included are photographs from Frank Joseph Kelley, of Guam reconstruction.

The collection primarily contains a series of letters from servicemen in the Army, Army Air Force, and Navy from 1941 to 1944. It also includes photographs of her brother-in-law, Stephen Garboski, while he was in service, as well as miscellaneous materials such as newspaper clippings, drawings, and photographs she received during this time.

This collection relates to Staff Sergeant Ray Liberti who served in the U.S. Marine Corps with the Third Marine Division on Iwo Jima during World War II. This collection contains an oral history where Liberti recounts his experiences in the war.

Scope and Contents This collection contains personal papers including letters, notes, sketches, newspaper articles, and a radio interview of Mildred Shearer about her work with the United Service Organization (USO) sketching servicemen. Almost 600 photostatic copies and a few original portraits are included as well. The letters are mainly thank you notes in which servicemen and family members of servicemen commend her for her sketches. However, there are a few personal letters from friends and in one case, an entire collection of correspondence with one man in the Marines named Lieutenant Ralph Hunter Bennett.
