Hazel Louis Bowman collection
This collection relates to Hazel Louis Bowman who worked for the Signal Corps and lived in India with the American Red Cross for two years. Bowman's collection contains six full boxes, one oversize box, a phono records box, and two photograph boxes. Four of the boxes include letters written to and from Hazel to her parents, family, neighbors, and friends. The collection also contains an oral history transcript, newsletters and bulletins, American Red Cross publications, her diary, a book written by Bowman, photograph albums, and ephemera.
Ralph Chapman collection
Ralph Chapman (MSM with the Royal Army Service Corps) served with the British 8th Army in the Middle East and Italy from 1941-1944. The collection contains v-mail letters sent to Chapman's wife and son at home in Glasgow, Scotland.
J. Charles "Charlie" Christensen collection
This collection is related to J. Charles "Charlie" Christensen (Staff Sergeant) who served in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater with Company B, 1st Battalion, 337th Infantry, 85th Infantry Division. The collection consists of scrapbooks, photographs, documents, and letters.
Douglas E. Leach papers
Douglas Leach served as a U.S. Navy officer during World War II on the U.S.S Elden in the Pacific Theater. His letters of correspondence to family and friends are about his daily life, on the ship and off. His family's letters hold information on how rationing and censorship affected the American family unit during WWII. There are photographs included of Leach's niece and sister.
