Postage stamps

The Annie Gertrude Gilliam Scrapbook contains photographs, programs, and other items related to her years as a student at Florida State College for Women.

Both the scrapbook in its entirety and select individual objects from the scrapbook have been digitized and are available through the FSU Digital Library.

This collection relates to Hazel Louis Bowman who worked for the Signal Corps and lived in India with the American Red Cross for two years. Bowman's collection contains six full boxes, one oversize box, a phono records box, and two photograph boxes. Four of the boxes include letters written to and from Hazel to her parents, family, neighbors, and friends. The collection also contains an oral history transcript, newsletters and bulletins, American Red Cross publications, her diary, a book written by Bowman, photograph albums, and ephemera.

The items in the Janet MacGowan West Collection contain a scrapbook related to her years as a student at Florida State College for Women as well as miscellaneous items including correspondence, a luggage tag, and newspaper clippings.

This collection primarily relates to Lieutenant Colonel Walter R. Stokes who served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in a weapons training section at Camp Luna, NM. The collection also relates to the uncle of Walter R. Stokes,  Harry Keeler Stokes, who served as the bank manager of Citizens' Bank of Clermont, FL. The collection consists of letters and envelopes written from soldiers serving in World War II to a bank president in Clermont, Florida. The collection also contains World War II period empty envelopes and letters from the stamp collection of Walter R. Stokes.
