This collection relates to Hazel Louis Bowman who worked for the Signal Corps and lived in India with the American Red Cross for two years. Bowman's collection contains six full boxes, one oversize box, a phono records box, and two photograph boxes. Four of the boxes include letters written to and from Hazel to her parents, family, neighbors, and friends. The collection also contains an oral history transcript, newsletters and bulletins, American Red Cross publications, her diary, a book written by Bowman, photograph albums, and ephemera.

Scope and Contents This collection relates to Samuel Rhea, M.D., Willard Carr, and Anna (Groover) Carr. Dr. Rhea served as a physician with the 377th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion attached to the 4th Infantry Division in the U.S. Army in the European Theater (ETO). Willard Carr served as an officer in the 377th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion and served in the European Theater of Operations. Anna (Groover) Carr served in the Red Cross as Director of the Enlisted Men's Club, Luchbal Barracks in Antwerp, Belgium. This collection includes three written biographical histories and a personal memoir transcript by Thelma McNeill of family members' and her own service during the Second World War. These narratives detail the lives of a captured Merchant Mariner during the Battle of the Atlantic, an injured tank officer during the Battle of France, a U.S. Naval officer, and a McNeill who served as a Red Cross volunteer in the Pacific Theater.
