This collection relates to Dorotha Farrell who served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps in an orthopedic ward with the 98th General Hospital that served in England and Germany in World War II. The John MacKay Shaw Collection consists of the Childhood in Poetry Collection and other materials he collected that relate to the six themes that are evident throughout the Collection: bibliography, biography, children, collecting, publishing, and writing. This collection relates to Staff Sergeant Warren R. MacInnes (part of the 834th) in Italy. The box contains letters and photographs sent to him from his wife while he was stationed on the Italian front in Europe. In addition, there are periodicals and pamphlets related to the reintroduction of soldiers from the Italian front back into civilian life Stateside.  This collection also contains documents related to Private Gerald Greenbaum who served with 1560th Service Unit, Medical Section-Station Complement, Camp Atterbury, Indiana.

This collection primarily relates to Lieutenant Colonel Walter R. Stokes who served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in a weapons training section at Camp Luna, NM. The collection also relates to the uncle of Walter R. Stokes,  Harry Keeler Stokes, who served as the bank manager of Citizens' Bank of Clermont, FL. The collection consists of letters and envelopes written from soldiers serving in World War II to a bank president in Clermont, Florida. The collection also contains World War II period empty envelopes and letters from the stamp collection of Walter R. Stokes.

The majority of the collection centers around his years of service in the Army Air Corps, from 1944-1945. Scope and Contents This collection relates to William V. Voss, Jr. who served with the U.S. Army, 11th Field Artillery, 24th Infantry Division, in New Guinea and the Philippines during World War II. This collection contains four copies of personal letters and two manuscripts, as well as letters and articles from a reunion magazine from Robert Dexheimer. In his manuscript on the "Return to Bataan," he recounts his experience and tells stories of men he knew and his interactions with local Filipinos.
