The collection of Clarke M. Brandt contains an oral history transcript and various publications about army life during World War II. In it are examples such as George (Bob) Caron who was a tail gunner on the "Enola Gay" B-29 Bomber. The oral history includes Caron's eyewitness account of the bomb being dropped on Hiroshima. Also included are pamphlets and newsletters including "War Buddies," which covers the relationship between a soldier and his canine companion through his years as a member of the US Marine Corps. "War Buddies" is written by Earle Welch and Dick Roberts.

He was recalled during the Korean War and served again with the U.S. Navy in a construction battalion. The collection includes letters, military personnel documents, 118th Naval Construction Battalion newsletters, and objects.

This collection relates to Tadako Knight, who was the wife of U.S. Navy veteran Willard Thomas Knight who served in the U.S. Navy from 1937 until 1958. This collection contains newspaper articles about Guadalcanal, personal letters in Japanese, newsletters, magazines, correspondence with Tallahassee resident and Guadalcanal veteran Harry Horsman, photocopies of photographs, and writings penned by Japanese and U.S. soldiers.

Helen D. Nowels-Mark served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps stationed in the North African and Pacific Theaters during the World War II. This collection contains letters sent to Helen D. Nowels-Marks from soldiers she had met at her various stations. They reflect the trials of long-distance love, the frustrations of war, and the relief at the war's end. Included in this collection are photographs and newspaper articles about some of her nurse friends, a picture diary, and her wedding in 1952.

James Reed collection
This collection relates to James Reed who served with the U.S. Army Air Corps 1st Fighter Control Squadron during World War II in the Pacific Theater. The collection includes an oral history interview transcript of Reed and comrade Chester Driest where they discussed their experiences in the Pacific Theater. Both served as radio operators that directed Army Air Force planes with ground based radar. The men also recount a few experiences before deployment and experiences in local indigenous populations they encounterd on the islands.

Schuster during his training and into his eventual deployment overseas during 1943 to 1946. Within the collection there are also certificates, lists, receipts, and other official documents that show Lieutenant Arnold L. Schuster’s career in the Army Air Force.
