Scope and Contents This collection includes a United States Pacific Fleet and Pacific Ocean Areas Intelligence Information Bulletin on Okinawa, dated 15 November 1944. It also includes a U.S. Naval Training School (Hollywood Beach Hotel, Hollywood, Florida) graduation class 4-44 yearbook entitled "The Quarterdeck," dated 21 July 1944.  Other content includes Thanksgiving and Christmas 1945 dinner menus for U.S. troops in Samar, Philippines. Class photographs included int he collection are from Landing Craft School, A.T.B. Coronado, CA, as well as, Naval training class photographs. The collection also contains photograph album pages...

Elmer Hubbard papers

Scope and Contents

Elmer Hubbard served as Radioman Second Class in the US Navy's 1st Naval Beach Battalion in the Mediterranean and European Theaters, as well as the Pacific Theater aboard the U.S.S. Buckingham attack ship during World War II. Hubbard participated in the amphibious landings at Anzio, Salerno, and Southern France. The collection consists of original wartime transcribed, typed, and mimeographed letters from original handwritten letters Hubbard wrote to his parents.

Scope and Contents

This collection relates to Robert S. McClelland who served as U.S. Navy liaison with the 7th U.S. Army during World War II. The materials in the Robert S. McClelland collection consist of eleven original photographs covering the liberation of a German concentration camp, a crematorium, photographs of the German town of Gmünd, and a photocopy of Robert S. McClelland's U.S. Naval record. The items in the collection include badges, buttons, an armband, a silver spoon, and haberdashery all relating to different Nazi party groups such as the Deutscher Volkssturm Wehrmacht, the National Socialist People’s Welfare, the Women's Reicharbeitdienst and the Nazi party in general.
