Charlotte D. Mansfield collection

Abstract Charlotte Mansfield enlisted in the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps (W.A.A.C.) in 1942 to pursue work in photograph processing for the military. She was part of the first all-women graduating class from Lowry Field Photo School in Colorado, where she was trained to be a photo technician that developed primarily aerial shots in photography labs. Mansfield was stationed at various locations throughout the United States before being transferred to lab work overseas in England and Germany. Scope and Contents The collection was given by Reubin O'Donovan Askew in 2008. It contains materials related to his time serving in the Florida House of Representatives, Florida State Senate, and as Governor of Florida.  Included in the collection are campaign files, correspondence, newspaper articles, photographs, audiovisual materials, memorabilia, and copies of speeches. Additionally, there are records documenting his 1988 Presidential bid, as well as other materials relating to his life after his service as a Florida public official. Also included in the collection are the personal papers of his wife, Donna Lou Harper Askew.

Scope and Contents This World War II collection relates to an African American soldier who served in the Navy during World War II. It contains a page of the roll call from the 316th Port Company with Robert C. Watson's name. There are also news articles and comics from the base. There are photographs of Robert C. Watson's unit and his Veteran's questionnaire. There is also an article he wrote about his experience as a Black man who appeared White in the Navy.

Scope and Contents Personal items of Florida State University student Sue Herndon McCollum's (BA, 1956; MA, 1957). The collection includes a large number of photographs, correspondences, newspaper clippings, and other ephemera, and an 8-mm home movie of the FSU Flying High Circus rehearsals, recorded in the mid 1950s. The movie is approximately 10 minutes long and has also been reformatted to DVD.
