Cameron of Portland, Maine who provided a telephone interview on February 8, 2001, concerning his experiences in the U.S. Navy during World War II. The collection contains an oral history interview transcript. The transcript consists of an 8-page oral history interview. In the interview he discusses working in a shipyard, joining the Seabees, and the places he served in the Pacific. He talks about building for the war relief program, and Bundles for Britain. This oral history interview transcript relates to Eddie Barrington who served with C Company in the 823rd Air Aviation Engineers. Barrington was assigned to work on the Ledo Road under General Joseph Stilwell in December 1942 in the China Burma India campaign. The collection includes a transcript of an interview, recorded May 20, 2004 and audio recording. The recording includes portions of the interview that are not transcribed.

This collection relates to Diana Naylor Morgan who served as a junior USO hostess in New Jersey during World War II. The collection includes an oral interview with Morgan, news articles, photographs, and letters sent to her from American and British soldiers deployed overseas during World War II.

In the letters, servicemen describe their day to day activities while deployed overseas, their locations, views on the Japanese, and opinions about the Atomic Bomb. A letter dated June 2, 1944, written by an American sailor Ernest Feasy was not censored; Feasy describes how he is waiting for D-Day to arrive.

This collection relates to Leonard P. Schmitt who served in the Army Air Corps in North African and China-Burma-India (CBI) Theaters with the 436th Squadron, 7th Bomb Group during World War II. This collection contains a veterans questionnaire and bound manuscript titled "Life and Times of Leonard P. Schmitt Sr." which recounts his experiences during the war.

Scope and Contents The Sonia Visser collection contains one folder with a 24-page typed transcript of an oral history interview and another six page document with questions and answers from Sonia Visser. Sonia Visser served in the Women's Army Corps from 1943 to 1945. She experienced public discrimination as a WAC in rural American towns. She served overseas in the Pacific in base port command at Hollandia, New Guinea. While in New Guinea, she experienced attempted sexual assault on two occasions and witnessed the prevalent threat of sexual assault against other women soldiers.
