Kenneth H. Cardwell collection
This collection relates to Kenneth H. Cardwell, who served in the Army Air Corps from 1941 to 1945. The collection contains a bound memoir of Cardwell's service which details his experiences in Australia and New Guinea. Included as well in the memoir are photographs from his service, diagrams, cartoons, and Cardwell's certificate of training and service.
Joseph F. Dunn collection
This collection contains the official orders and other documents related to the service John F. Dunn who served as a pilot with the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II and his postwar service with Strategic Air Command and in Vietnam. The collection contains little personal correspondence, but does include photographs of Dunn’s career and aerial maps of Japan from 1945. A set of maps of Japan also make up the collection along with a number of medals awarded to Dunn.
Melvin Magidson transcript
This oral history interview transcript pertains to Melvin Magidson, who was inducted into the U.S. Army Air Force in February of 1943 and was discharged in October of 1945 with the rank of lieutenant. In the transcript, Magidson mostly recounts various Air Force bases that he trained at throughout Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and the northeast. Magidson never served overseas due to the war in Europe and in the Pacific both ending shortly after the end of his training.
