The Hasterlik-Hine collection consists personal correspondence between Giulia Kortischoner (married name Hine) and her family and friends. The personal correspondence consists of letters, postcards, get-well-soon cards, greeting cards, and a small number of travel documents. The collection contains discussions about the Holocaust, life as a Jewish refugee, and the progress of the war and life afterwards.

Jack B. Newman collection

Scope and Contents This collection includes primarily the personal papers of U.S. Army Air Corps T/Sgt. Jack B. Newman, 717th Squadron, 449th Bombardment Group, from his time as a prisoner of war in Krems, Austria during World War II. A diary, provided by the American YMCA, contains artwork, poetry, and other writings from Newman's time in the camp. Letters received by family members and friends are also included, as well as miscellaneous loose pages found within the diary. The story of how the B-24 bomber, "Thunder Bay Babe," upon which he served as a radio operator, was hit by flak and shot down is located in multiple folders within the collection. Melvin Rackleff collection

This collection is composed of the personal possessions of Capt. Melvin M. Rackleff, as they relate to the Second World War and subsequent postwar occupation of Germany as a U.S. Army doctor. Included in this collection are letters written to his wife, Hazel Rackleff, during and immediately following the war. Other ephemera from Rackleff's time overseas is included. Additionally, several books, many from his time during the occupation of Germany, are included. Four maps from the immediate post-war period show the division of Germany and town layouts. One box contains several photograph albums that originally belonged to a German family.

Scope and Contents This collection relates to William V. Voss, Jr. who served with the U.S. Army, 11th Field Artillery, 24th Infantry Division, in New Guinea and the Philippines during World War II. This collection contains four copies of personal letters and two manuscripts, as well as letters and articles from a reunion magazine from Robert Dexheimer. In his manuscript on the "Return to Bataan," he recounts his experience and tells stories of men he knew and his interactions with local Filipinos.
