Scope and Contents The materials in the Omer E. Englehart collection document activities of a U.S. Army Air Forces Corporal who served in the European theater during World War II. Mario Joseph Patruno's collection includes a manuscript/oral history that covers his service in the 101st Airborne through his wounding in Operation Market Garden. The collection also includes three photographs, two of Patruno and one photograph taken inside Patruno's C-47 Transport on the night of 5 June 1944.

The Paul K. Dougherty Collection includes photographs, documents, and various artifacts Dougherty obtained while in Germany. His collection contains rare original German propaganda publications such as Deutschland Erwach and Adolf Hitler. Also included in the collection is a personal photograph album that belonged to Nazi official and founder of the anti-Semitic newspaper Der Stürmer, Julius Streicher. Other items included are Nazi Party flags/fabrics, Paul K. Dougherty’s camera, and camera accessories.

The James R. Pemberton oral history interview transcript includes his time as a sergeant in the 103rd Infantry Division, 410th Regiment, Company K, 3rd Platoon, 3rd Squadron. He served as an engineer in France, Germany, and Austria from 1943-1945 and participated at D-Day and Battle of the Bulge. He documents his experiences during the war in regards to his military training, losing friends, taking German prisoners, how he earned his Bronze Star Medal, specific events in which he participated, and his pre/post-war activities.

The Peter R. Durland papers illustrate Captain Peter R. Durland's experiences during his time as a member of the 70th Infantry Division and 29th Infantry Division of the United States Army from 1943-1946. From 1945-1946, Durland served as Major General Leroy Watson's aide, completing various tasks for the General and accompanying him to the Nuremberg Trials. The collection includes an oral history interview transcript, photographs, and papers related to the war crime trials.

Private Ralph Chester Lapham served with the 116th Evacuation Hospital during World War II in the European Theater of Operations. Chester assisted with providing care for former prisoners of Dachau concentration camp after the camp's liberation. The collection contains photographs of the camp and letters describing the unit's work setting up a hospital at Dachau and a Typhus epidemic.

The Raymond Wayne Davis papers are largely centered around letters Davis wrote to his sister Mildred Kingston Renwick throughout World War II. During the war, Sergeant Davis served as a machinist in the Strategic 3rd Air Depot of the Army Air Force as well as serving in the infantry as a part of the Third Army, 90th Division, 358th Infantry, Company C. Davis served in England, France, Germany, and Czechoslovakia. His papers also include postwar division newsletters, an oral history interview, a veteran's questionnaire, discharge certificate, and photographs.

This collection contains a copy of the oral history interview of Joe Rendelman who served with the 15th Air Force in Italy. He was shot down over Romania after twenty-five missions. He spent six months in a POW camp and was liberated by the Russians in 1944.

This collection relates to Dr. Donald R. Roberts who served as a World War II surgeon with the 47th Regiment, 9th Infantry Division in North Africa and Europe. This collection contains his memoir titled The Other War: A World War II Journal where he details his time at Fort Bragg, in North Africa, Sicily, England, Normandy, Belgium, Germany, and Dachau.

Scope and Contents Roland Cadoret served as a B-17 pilot in the 351st Bomb Group, 8th Air Force, in the European Theater.  His collection contains a manuscript, "The Battle of Grounded Eagles," in which he details his entire POW experience from mission briefing to liberation, an excerpt from his diary, and his photocopied version of General Dwight D. Eisenhower's letter to Invasion Forces. This collection contains the personal letters of Roy Willard Meyer sent to Clifford Benson, a lifelong friend, during and after World War II.  Though Meyer didn't enter military service until 1944, the letters begin in 1941.  Roy Willard Meyer served with the 15th Army Group as a Clerk typist during the occupation period.

This album contains photographs, newspaper clippings, and poetry (all in German) from Schäfer's journal about the 25th Infantry Division during the 1940 Battle of France.  This album also contains a signed document and signed portrait photograph of 25th Division commander Erich-Heinrich Philipp Karl Albert Reinhard Clößner (17 September 1888 – 28 March 1976) who was a highly decorated General der Infanterie in the Wehrmacht during World War II.  He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross.

This collection contains seven 16mm propaganda films created by the German Ministry for Educational Films. The reels were recovered from German military barracks in Manheim, Germany, in 1945 by US Army Sergeant Richard Seemel. Technical Sergeant Seth A. McKinney served as a flight engineer and a gunner on a B-24 Liberator stationed at Cerignola, Italy. He completed over 40 missions as a part of the 767th Bombardment Squadron, 461st Bombardment Group of the 15th Air Force.  This collection includes photographs, documents, and artifacts.

Scope and Contents This collection contains the personal papers of Kenneth A. Skoog.  Skoog served in the European Theater (ETO) in the 121st and the 118th US Army Signal Radio Intelligence Corps. His collection includes nine World War I photos and 82 World War II photos. The World War II photographs related to the 118th and 121st Signal Radio Intelligence Companies. This collection was compiled by Edward McKenzie and includes a directory of New Hampshire Ex-POWs book. It is a boxed collection of approroximately 20 individual collections of American POWs who were interned at Stalag 17. The individual collections collectively consist of personal papers, transcripts, documents, photographs, and drawings relating to their experiences as prisoners of war.

Stanley Marshall was interviewed by Dr. William Oldson, former Director of the Institute on WWII and the Human Experience at FSU. He served as a field hospital clinical technician in the European Theater during World War II. This collection includes a copy of his oral history interview, two pictures of him, and a photocopy of a newspaper clipping. After the war, Stanley Marshall continued his accademic career, eventually becoming the president of Florida State University.

This collection relates to Staff Sergeant Warren R. MacInnes (part of the 834th) in Italy. The box contains letters and photographs sent to him from his wife while he was stationed on the Italian front in Europe. Hy Wakstein was a Jewish American serviceman who reached the rank of Staff Sergeant with the 778th Anti-Aircraft-Automatic Weapons Battalion, Self Propelled, (served 1943-46) and discusses his experiences as an Army communications officer in the European theater of World War II in this oral history transcript. Wakstein participated in the Battle of the Bulge, and his division advanced further east into Germany than any other American division.
