Flynn who served as a technician gunner with the 12th Bombardment Group (Medium),  83rd Bombardment Squadron, in North Africa, Italy, and Burma, as well as a photo gunner with the 3rd Photo Reconnaissance Squadron on Guam during World War II. The collection consists of paper memorabilia and material objects from his service from 1942-1945. The medals included a Purple Heart and Air Medal. Joseph F. Dunn collection

This collection contains the official orders and other documents related to the service John F. Dunn who served as a pilot with the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II and his postwar service with Strategic Air Command and in Vietnam. The collection contains little personal correspondence, but does include photographs of Dunn’s career and aerial maps of Japan from 1945. A set of maps of Japan also make up the collection along with a number of medals awarded to Dunn.

This collection relates to U.S. Navy Lieutenant Benjamin T. Leland who served as a fighter pilot on the U.S.S. Wasp with VF-86 Squadron during World War II in the Pacific Theater of Operations and remained in the U.S. Navy Reserves until retiring in 1964. He was recalled to active duty as a pilot during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953 and served with Squadron VF-831 on the U.S.S. Antietam. This collection relates to Jean Simpson, who worked at a Barrett and Hilp Contractors shipyard during World War II. This collection contains an oral transcript of an interview with Simpson, in which she shares her experience being a female worker during the war. She recalls events in the shipyard including wages, going up a Jacob's ladder and working with other minorites such as African-Americans and Asian-Americans. She then went to Stanford law school and worked with a civil attorney. Simpson also shares her exerience applying for an Air Force commission in December of 1950 and entering the Air Force in May of 1951, where she served for twenty years.
